About the Project

Taiwan Power Company has awarded the full EPCI Contract for the TPC Offshore Wind Farm Phase 2 (TPC-II), including 5 years of maintenance, to Foxwell Energy in 2020. IX Renewables is contracted by first time ‘Super EPCI’ Foxwell to jointly bring the TPC-II project to a successful conclusion.

TPC-II is located around 6.5-20 km from the coast of Lukang in Changhua County, ROC (Taiwan) and has a capacity of 294.5MW. The TPC-II site covers an overall area of 51km², and the water depth is between 37-49m.

TPC-II consists of 31 turbines on four-legged jacket foundations, connected through 3 loops of inter array cables on a 66kV (60Hz) network. The power is transformed to 161kV (60Hz) on an offshore substation with a capacity of 500MVA (2x250MVA transformer bays) and transported through 3 export cables to the onshore substation via a common corridor.

We have been most fortunate to have a capable and flexible partner as IX Wind to bring international industry knowhow into our project in such a short period of time. By mixing European expertise and young Taiwanese engineers in the project, the cooperation plants a seed for the future of the offshore wind industry in Taiwan.
