About the Project
The TPC Offshore Wind Farm is located around 6.5-20 km from the coast of Lugang in Chuanghua County, ROC (Taiwan) and exists out of 2 phases; phase 1 has a capacity of 109.2 MW and phase 2 has a capacity of 300 MW.
IX Renewables is contracted for the second phase of the Taipower offshore wind farm. In the Taiwanese government planning the Project is known as Offshore wind farm zone 26. The following project name is the official project name within the Foxwell project-team: TPC Offshore Wind Power Generation Phase II Project (OWP2).
The site of OWP2 covers an overall area of 51km², and the water depth is between 37-49m. The turbines shall be mounted on jacket foundations and interconnected with Inter Array Cables (IAC) on a 66kV (60Hz) network.
The power shall be transformed to 161kV (60Hz) in an offshore substation with a capacity of 500MVA (2x250MVA transformer bays) and transported through an Export Cable (EXP) to the onshore electrical room in ROC Taiwan, following a predefined cable corridor.
Taiwan Power Company has awarded the full EPCI Contract (including 5 years of maintenance) to Foxwell Energy in 2020.
We have been most fortunate to have a capable and flexible partner as IX Wind to bring international industry knowhow into our project in such a short period of time. By mixing European expertise and young Taiwanese engineers in the project, the cooperation plants a seed for the future of the offshore wind industry in Taiwan.
